The National Rescue Movement’s candidate for governor of Rivers State in the 2023 general election, Sobomabo Jackrich, was picked up by armed men wearing military uniforms on Monday morning from his home in Usokun, within the Degema Local Government Area of the state.
It was also said that two of his supporters who were there when the attackers entered his home on Monday morning at approximately 3:00 in the morning were shot by the gunmen, and their bodies were carried away alongside Jackreech.
Known by his popular name “Egberipapa,” Jackrich was a former militant commander who supported amnesty under the late President Umar Yar’Adua.
Soibibo Sokari, Jackrich’s media assistant, confirmed the incident to journalist that his principal was abducted.
Sokari stated, “Yes it is true he was abducted this morning. Two persons were killed, and their bodies were carted away along with him. We are still following up on the incident to get more details.
“We don’t know exactly who is behind it. But as the details unfold, we will let the public know about it.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]
