Grammy nominations: You’re Everlasting Winners, Lagos Gov, Sanwo-Olu Hails Davido, Others

Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, has hailed all the Nigerian Grammy Awards nominees including singer Davido and Burna Boy despite losing their respective nominations.

The governor celebrated them in a post on his official X page on Monday, 5th of February, 2024.

Sanwo-Olu wrote,

“A special shoutout to #burnaboy, #davido, #ayrastarr, #@asakemusik, and all Nigerian talents represented as nominees at the Grammy’s, the apex music award in the world.

The Grammy Award Premiere Ceremony at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, a South African singer, Tyla, won the award for the Best African Music Performance category at the 2024 Grammys.

Burna Boy, who bagged four nominations, was joined by Davido, who earned three nominations in his debut.

Asake, Arya Starr, and Olamide got one nomination apiece.

They were all nominated in the maiden Best African Music Performance category alongside South Africa’s Tyla.
