Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday inaugurated new members of the Lagos State Market Advisory Council (LASMAC), reaffirming his administration’s commitment to improving market operations across the state.
In a statement on X, Sanwo-Olu described markets as vital to the social and economic fabric of Lagos, noting that they provide livelihoods for millions and are central to the state’s economic resilience.
He also charged the newly inaugurated council, led by the Iyaloja-General of Lagos, Chief (Mrs.) Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, to be proactive, transparent, and fair in their decision-making, ensuring that both traders and consumers are placed at the centre of their policies and actions.
Sanwo-Olu wrote on X:
“Today, I swore in new members of the Lagos State Market Advisory Council (LASMAC).
“Our markets are at the heart of life in Lagos. They support the livelihoods of millions of Lagosians and play a key role in keeping our economy strong. That’s why we’re making their development, security, and sustainability a top priority.
“With the leadership of the Iyaloja-General, Chief (Mrs) Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, and the commitment of the members, LASMAC is positioned to make real progress. I urged them to be proactive, open, and fair in their work, and to always keep the interests of traders and consumers at the centre of their decisions.
“We want our markets to be safe, clean, and well-run, places where businesses can thrive and customers can shop with confidence. We are supporting that goal with better infrastructure, smarter policies, and training that helps traders build stronger businesses.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>
