Governor Dapo Abiodun commissions Olumo Rock tourism complex with free access until September 2025

The Ogun state Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has officially commissioned the newly renovated Olumo Rock Tourism Complex.

In a statement on the official X handle of the Ogun State Government, it was announced that public access to the iconic site will be free until the end of September 2025.

According to the statement, visitors can now enjoy an arts galleria, a serene gazebo, and a variety of dining options at restaurants offering both local and continental cuisine.

The complex also features adire fabric shops, providing a platform for local artisans. Modern infrastructure improvements include the installation of elevators and a reliable standby power supply, ensuring a comfortable and accessible experience for all.

The statement reads:

“Governor #DapoAbiodunCON has officially commissioned the newly renovated Olumo Rock Tourism Complex in Abeokuta, announcing free public access until the end of September 2025 to promote tourism and cultural appreciation in Ogun State.

“The facelifted complex now features an arts galleria, gazebo, restaurants offering local and continental cuisine, adire fabric shops, and modern infrastructure including elevators and standby power supply. The governor described Olumo Rock as a timeless symbol of refuge, identity, and resilience for the Egba people.

“Reaffirming tourism as a priority under his administration’s ISEYA development agenda, Governor Abiodun noted the sector’s potential to generate employment, stimulate investment, and foster cultural pride. Entrepreneurial zones have been introduced to empower artisans and boost local commerce.

“He disclosed plans to concession the facility for sustainable management and reiterated the state’s commitment to expanding its network of cultural and heritage tourism sites across Ogun State.”
