Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has confirmed the arrival of three brand-new train sets for the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line.
The newly arrived trains are expected to boost the operational capacity of the Blue Line, particularly in preparation for the second phase of the project, which will extend the rail corridor from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko.
The extension is projected for completion in 2026.
The announcement was disclosed via a post on the X handle of Sanwo-Olu’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Jubril Gawat, on Thursday, June 5.
Gawat wrote:
“Governor of Lagos State, Mr #jidesanwoolu has confirmed the arrival of three brand new train sets for the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line.
“The arrival of these three sets of trains will enhance performance of the 2nd phase of the ongoing Blue Line Rail infrastructure which will extend from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko, scheduled to be completed in 2026.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>
