Gov Adeleke Suspends Senior Aide Over Alleged Diversion of 70 Bags of Rice In Osun State

The Osun state Governor, Ademola Adeleke has suspended his Senior Special Assistant on Civil Societies, Comrade Emmanuel Adebisi, following allegations of diverting 70 bags of rice.

The civil society coalition in the state, represented by its Secretary, Comrade Olowu Emmanuel, reported that the bags of rice meant for them were never delivered.

Governor Adeleke’s suspension of Adebisi is based on accusations that the aide collected the rice under the pretence of delivering it to the civil society coalition’s office but failed to do so.

Emmanuel said in a statement;

“There has never been a time, since the coming of this administration that anything meant for civil societies delivered. Not even palliative meant to alleviate suffering or the people of the State.”

Despite these allegations, Adebisi took to his verified Facebook handle to deny the suspension.

He wrote;

“The claims suggesting I Emmanuel Adebisi have been suspended and removed from a WhatsApp group are categorically false. I continue to serve diligently in my capacity as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Osun State, with unwavering commitment to my responsibilities. Any insinuation of my involvement in misconduct, particularly relating to the alleged diversion of 70 bags of rice intended for Osun Civil Societies during the Eid-el-Kabir festival, is entirely baseless and without merit and the hand work of some bitter politicians and I challenge anyone with fact on this to bring it out”

However, a statement released on Wednesday, 3rd of July, 2024 by Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, confirmed the suspension of Adebisi with immediate effect.

The Governor said that the suspension would remain in place pending the outcome of an investigation led by his Chief of Staff, Kazeem Akinleye.

The statement read;
