God Will Flog Me If I Pay 10% As Tithe – Pastor Ibiyeomie

Founder of Salvation Ministries in Port Harcourt, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, delivered a fiery sermon to his congregation on Sunday, emphasizing the importance of tithes and offerings. He made a controversial statement, asserting that if he were to pay only 10 percent as tithes, God would chastise him.

During his sermon on the topic “Prospering with the Word,” Pastor Ibiyeomie declared that not paying tithes is a form of greed and warned that those who oppose tithing remain trapped in financial difficulties. He exclaimed, “Na tithe em wan dey preach? You no go come out of suffering oo. You can’t enjoy abundance if you are angry with tithing. Tithing is your major access to financial fortune.”

According to the pastor, tithing serves as the gateway to Kingdom wealth, and failing to pay tithes is equivalent to being a thief. He insisted that the gate to financial blessings must be opened through tithing. Pastor Ibiyeomie claimed that even amidst suffering and tears, God remains unmoved by those who neglect their tithing obligations.

Additionally, Pastor Ibiyeomie briefly touched on the concept of Prophet offering, highlighting its significance for prosperity. Although he initially expressed reluctance to discuss it, he later revealed that he keeps three safes in his house—one for tithes, one for regular offerings, and one for Prophet offerings. He attributed his financial stability to faithfully contributing to these categories.

The pastor hinted at his own substantial contributions, implying that he pays more than the recommended ten percent as an offering and that his tithe goes far beyond the standard percentage. However, he refrained from disclosing specific figures, stating that he operates on a higher level than ordinary members of the congregation.
