Tony Okocha, the former Chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the APC, isn’t holding back to reveal that Governor Sim Fubara’s stirring up trouble for himself—and it’s going to cost him big time.
According to Okocha, Fubara’s political future looks shaky, with plans already in motion to make sure he gets “de-marketed” ahead of the 2027 governorship race.
Meanwhile, the ongoing feud between Nyesom Wike and Governor Fubara has only deepened, shrugging off efforts by President Bola Tinubu and other top political figures to broker peace.
The Minister did, however, leave a crack open for reconciliation, saying he’s ready to settle the dispute—but only if Fubara plays by the rules.
Speaking to reporters in Abuja, Okocha threw in a bit of a jab: “Wike made it possible for Fubara to emerge as governor. Fubara was never a politician.”
Seems like the political chess game in Rivers is far from over, and the pieces are moving fast.
“Fubara is creating problems for himself. It is our business to demarket him and his party for us to win in 2027.
“I can say to you that for the next 10 years, I do not see any politician destroying the political structure Wike has in Rivers State.
“I’m not God, but I’m talking about what is possible within human possibility. Wike’s structure cannot be destroyed. It is not possible, not so soon. Let’s leave it there.”
