The remains of Senator (Dr.) Bukar Abba Ibrahim, the former governor of Yobe State, have been interred in Saudi Arabia.
The funeral ceremony (Janazah), was held at the Grand Mosque Masjid Al Haram after Fajr prayers on Sunday.
Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, 75, passed suddenly on February 4th while undergoing medical treatment in Saudi Arabia. Senator Ibrahim governed Yobe State from 1991 to 1992 and 1999 to 2007 before spending three terms in the Senate.

Governor Mai Mala Buni has taken action to guarantee that the late senator be given a state funeral in observance of his memory, expressing her profound grief at the passing.
Buni urged friends of the state and Yobe residents to pray for the senator’s everlasting resting place.
“The late senator’s death is not only a loss to Yobe but to Nigeria as a whole, as he was a key figure in the country’s political landscape for many years.
