Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N1 billion to victims of recent att+ck in Plateau State—but made it clear that this will be her final such intervention.
On a condolence visit to the state, Senator Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over the recurring v+olence, saying her heart breaks each time she hears of bl++dshed in any part of Nigeria.
She urged stakeholders in Plateau to work toward lasting peace, especially to protect women and children.
“Women don’t f+ght. We don’t carry arms. We ask you, the men, to protect us and ensure our children grow up without fear,” she said.
“This will be the last time I bring aid here. I want my next visit to Plateau to be for tourism, not tragedy.”
The First Lady emphasized that the N1 billion donation came from her personal resources, not government funds, through her Renewed Hope Initiative. She said her intention is to use what she has to uplift lives, not fuel gr++d.
“God will not be pleased with the bl++dshed on this blessed land,” she said, recalling her first visit to the state years ago and praising its natural beauty.
She also mentioned her prayers for flood-affected states like Benue and Niger and pledged continued support to other distressed areas.
In response, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang thanked the First Lady for her generosity and assured her the funds would be used transparently to support the victims.
He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to restoring peace across the state. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
