On the late Tuesday, 18th of June, 2024, Fire razed a huge military ammunition depot in the capital city of Chad, N’Djamena, with powerful explosions going into the night sky with buildings shaking from miles due to the blast.
President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, however via his Facebook handle, stated people had been killed and wounded in the blaze, while promising to open an investigation into the fire.
He wrote:
“A fire in a mutation depot at the strategic reserve camp caused human and material damage. Peace to the souls of the victims, sincere condolences to the bereaved families and quick recovery to the injured.
