Dr. Chris Ngige, the minister of labour and employment, has today, Tuesday, presented certificates of registration to two newly registered university-based unions.
The minister presented the certificates to the factions of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU identified as the Congress of Nigerian University Academics, CONUA and the National Association of Medical and Dental Academics, NAMDA.
This is coming amidst the ongoing strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU which has entered its eight months.
Chris Ngige who presented the certificates today to both unions said that the newly registered unions would exist alongside ASUU in the tertiary education system.
