The Federal Government has sanctioned N6 billion for the construction of three large-scale modern schools in Gombe State. The projects will be executed by the North East Development Commission (NEDC) in Dadin Kowa, Dukku, and Kaltungo.
The Minister of Regional Development, Alhaji Uba Ahmadu, stated that the initiative aims to enhance educational access and provide contemporary facilities such as hostels, ICT laboratories, and libraries to improve learning standards. He also commended the Gombe State Government for its partnership in the endeavour.
Mega schools in Northern Nigeria are specifically designed to serve as secure, fully-equipped educational hubs capable of accommodating a significant number of students, including those who are internally displaced or orphaned.
