Tragedy struck yesterday evening as a female student of the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa, Toto campus, lost her life in a road incident while traveling to Makurdi, Benue State, to celebrate the Sallah holiday.
According to eyewitness accounts, the incident occurred along the Toto–Makurdi route.
Though full details of the accident remain unclear, it was confirmed that the student died at the scene before emergency services could arrive.
The identity of the deceased has been withheld pending notification of her family.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement, but school officials have expressed their condolences and called for increased caution among students traveling during festive periods.
