FCCPC vice chairman reveals v!olations leading to fines on Meta and WhatsApp

Adamu Abdullahi, the acting vice chairman of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, FCCPC, has revealed the specific offences, including a breach of data privacy that led to the agency fining Meta Platforms and WhatsApp LLC.

While Speaking about the fine imposed on Meta platforms and WhatsApp LLC, Abdullahi explained that the penalties were due to data breach among other violations, stating that there is a need for ongoing collaborative efforts to maintain the standards.

He made this revelation while speaking to journalists as he presented his scorecard following the appointment of a new FCCPC Chairman, Olatunji Bello by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
