In its annual Christmas tradition, the FC Barcelona Foundation led a special outreach initiative, with the club’s first-team players, coaches, and staff visiting 10 hospitals across Barcelona to bring festive joy to young patients.
During the visits, the players spent time interacting with children, sharing light-hearted moments, and distributing Christmas gifts to provide comfort and lift spirits during their hospital stays.
Striker Robert Lewandowski called the initiative profoundly meaningful. “The experience was special not only for the children but also for us as players,” he said, emphasizing that “helping the kids feel better before Christmas made the visits worthwhile.”
Midfielder Pedri reflected on the club’s core values, stating the outreach represents “one of the most important days of the season.” He noted that supporting people facing real-life challenges truly embodies the club’s famous motto, “mes que un club” (more than a club).
Defender Eric García highlighted the collective effort, pointing to the emotional impact of “seeing everyone come together to brighten the children’s mood.” New signing Marcus Rashford added that the smiles shared during the visits would serve as a lasting source of encouragement for the children.
The annual hospital tour is a central part of the Barça Foundation’s wider social responsibility programs, reinforcing the club’s deep-seated commitment to community support, compassion, and solidarity, especially during the festive season.
