BREAKING: EFCC arrests former Nigerian power minister over alleged N22bn fraud

  • Former Nigerian Minister of Power, Sale Mamman, has been arrested and detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over his alleged involvement in a N22 billion fraud.

  • The arrest is connected to investigations into alleged corruption in the execution of some power projects, specifically the Zungeru and Mambilla Hydro Electric Power projects, where Mamman is accused of conspiring with ministry staff to divert funds and share among themselves. The investigation has also led to the recovery of millions of naira and dollars and the uncovering of properties linked to the suspects both in Nigeria and overseas.
