Erling Haaland was compelled to ‘call’ the Brazilian team on Tuesday following the news that the Manchester City player had joined Fluminense.
The Rio de Janeiro team, who are now 17th in the Brazilian first division, stunned supporters by declaring on their official website that they had signed the superstar from Norway.
Haaland was hired “after intense negotiations and a great effort from our management,” according to the item on Fluminense’s website, and his presence “will be a decisive framework for the turn of our season.”
Haaland ‘contacted’ Fluminense on Tuesday to inquire as to why this article had been published, according to Brazilian publication ge.globo. The Brazil club acknowledged that hackers had gained access to their website.
