Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau are set to face each other in the Africa Cup of Nations group stage at the Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Equatorial Guinea tied with Nigeria in their first match, while Guinea Bissau lost to Côte d’Ivoire. Both teams need a victory to improve their chances of advancing to the final round.
Equatorial Guinea enters the game with an 11-game unbeaten streak, although they have only won five of those matches. They secured their spot in this stage by finishing second in their group, closely behind Tunisia in points but with a lower goal difference.
Despite a tough group that included Libya and Botswana, Equatorial Guinea qualified comfortably with a nine-point lead over the other two teams.
Guinea Bissau has had a less stable recent record, with four wins, two draws, and four losses in their last ten games. In the qualifying phase, they also finished second, trailing behind Nigeria but ahead of Sierra Leone, Sao Tome and Principe, and Mauritius. Both teams are eager for a win in this crucial match.
