Arsenal’s William Saliba won’t be lining up next Sunday when the Gunners take on Liverpool. The defender saw red during Saturday’s match against Bournemouth, getting himself sent off in the first half.
It all started with Saliba grabbing onto Evanilson, trying to hold him back. At first, the referee, Rob Jones, pulled out a yellow card. But wait—VAR had other ideas.
The officials told Jones to take a second look at the incident on the pitchside monitor. After watching the replays, Jones decided it wasn’t just a foul but a last-man tackle. Out came the red card.
