Tech billionaire Elon Musk has achieved a historic financial milestone, becoming the first individual in history to amass a net worth exceeding $600 billion.
According to Forbes, Musk’s wealth reached an estimated $677 billion on Monday, propelled by skyrocketing valuations of his two main companies, SpaceX and Tesla.
A recent SpaceX tender offer valued the private aerospace firm at $800 billion, with Musk’s 42% stake estimated at approximately $336 billion. Meanwhile, his 12% stake in Tesla is now worth around $197 billion following a surge in the automaker’s share price.
Musk’s wealth accumulation has been extraordinarily rapid, crossing the $100 billion mark in 2020, $200 billion in 2021, $400 billion in December 2024, and $500 billion just last October. He now stands far above other tech leaders, such as Google co-founder Larry Page, whose net worth is estimated at $252 billion.
Musk has stated his intention to use much of his fortune to fund projects aimed at advancing humanity, including space exploration and colonizing Mars. With SpaceX reportedly targeting an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 2026 and Tesla continuing its expansion, his wealth may climb even higher.
