Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has today disclosed that she is 43 per cent Nigerian, after she had a genealogy test done years back.
Markle made this known during the latest episode of her podcast, Archetypes, made available today.
She said “I just had my genealogy done a couple of years ago”, Meghan Markle said that to her guest Ziwe Fumudoh, a Nigerian-American comedian, writer and also an actress.
“What, what are you?”, asked Ziwe.
“43% Nigerian”, the Duchess responded to her question.
Exclaiming, Ziwe shouted in the processes, “No way!, Oh my gosh! Are you really serious? This is huge. Igbo? Yoruba?, do we know?”
“I mean I am going to start to dig deeper into any of this because anyone I’ve told, especially Nigerian women are just like Whaaaaaaaaatttt!!!”, Markle Meghan replied her.
“This is huge for our community, no honestly, you do look like a Nigerian, you look like my aunt, Uzo”, added Ziwe.
