The D’Tigers of Nigeria have withdrawn from the upcoming FIBA Afrobasket 2025 qualification event.
The team made the announcement on their official X account on Wednesday.
The post reads:
“Despite several 2020 Olympians committing, D’Tigers will forfeit this AfroBasket Qualifiers window due to lack of funds from the government.”
According to sources on Tuesday, the players have not yet received their airline tickets to Tunisia, where the first qualifying tournament window will take place.
