The department of state services, DSS have reportedly nab and interrogates Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN’s Deputy Governor Aisha Ahmad over alleged ‘fr@udulent acquisition of shares’ in two banks
The Department of State Services, DSS has reportedly arrested and detained the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria in charge of Financial System Stability, Aisha Ahmad.
According to reports gathered from NTA, Ahmad was nabbed over her “alleged fr@udulent acquisition of shares in Polaris Bank, Titan Bank/Union Bank.”
“The CBN Deputy Governor is currently being interrogated on how $300 million to complete the acquisition of Union Bank was raised by Titan Bank,” the report added,
Ahmad was appointed Deputy CBN governor on 6th of October, 2017, replacing Sarah Alade, who retired in March 2017.
She was confirmed by the Nigerian Senate on 22nd of March, 2018.
It could be recalled that Ahmed’s former boss at the CBN, Godwin Emefiele, is still in DSS custody, over two months after he was whisked.
Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, was first charged with possession of a fir£arm but was later charged with N6.9 billion fr@ud. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>
