Today, the Department of State Services (DSS) conducted an investigation involving Ahmed Usman Ododo, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming governorship election in Kogi State.
Ododo was invited to the DSS office to address a petition filed against him, reportedly by members of the opposition party in the state.
Kingsley Fanwo, the spokesperson for the Kogi State Government, confirmed the event and stated that Ododo willingly honored the DSS’s invitation.
While the specific allegations in the petition were not disclosed by Fanwo, he dismissed them as baseless and lacking in substance. He asserted that Ododo cooperated with the DSS’s questioning and provided satisfactory explanations to the investigators.
After thorough questioning by DSS operatives, Ododo was allowed to leave the premises.
In a Facebook post, Fanwo emphasized Ododo’s commitment to the rule of law and the respect for constituted authorities.
He praised the professionalism of the DSS and assured that the APC governorship candidate had resumed his consultations with the people of Kogi State in preparation for the upcoming gubernatorial election in November 2023.
