DSS Denying Me Access To My Lawyers – Kanu Cries Out

Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who is facing terrorist accusations brought against him by the federal government, has expressed displeasure with the way his trial is being conducted.

He argued that the focus of his trial is shifting from prosecution to persecution.

The principal attorney for IPOB leader Kanu, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, stated during a news conference in Abuja that the federal government is treating him unfairly and that he should not be prosecuted for terrorism-related offenses before the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Ejimakor claimed that Kanu is denied access to his attorney, making it difficult for him to effectively prepare for his courtroom defense against the allegations levied against him.

“Our worry is the way we, as lawyers, are being denied access to him while in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

“The DSS always restrains us, each time we make efforts to get a statement from Kanu. The allegations against the IPOB leader are personal and he is the only person that can tell his lawyers what he did and what he did not do and what lines of defence he can rely on”. [CONTINUE READING HERE]
