Don’t just be a celebrity, focus on making money – APC Chieftain, Joe Igbokwe

Joe Igbokwe, the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has stated that rather than just being a celebrity, people should focus on making money.

Using David Adeleke, Nigerian music star aka Davido and Chioma’s traditional wedding as an example, having celebrity status ensures you are celebrated, but it doesn’t guarantee elevation.

He stressed that combining celebrity status with wealth leads to both celebration and elevation.

He also attributed the decision to hold the traditional wedding outside the South East to the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Eastern Security Network (ESN), and ‘known gunmen.’

In a post on his Facebook handle on Wednesday, 26th of June, 2024 Igbokwe wrote:

“Davido’s traditional wedding to Chioma yesterday offers us a teachable moment to understand the difference between wealth and celebrity. Why did the wedding shut down Nigeria and break the Internet? I don’t want to offend people, but celebrities have been getting married before today, and we have never seen such an effect. The key difference this time around is wealth. When you have celebrity status, you will be celebrated but not necessarily elevated. But when you have celebrity and wealth, you will be celebrated and elevated.

“So the moral of the story is this: Focus on making money, not just on being a celebrity. Because, when you have serious money, you are automatically a celebrity, but you do not automatically have serious money just because you are a celebrity. I hope you get the drift?”

In another post, Igbokwe wrote: “As beautiful and colourful CHIVIDO’s wedding is I regret the obvious and painful truth that the event did (sic) take place in the South East. Thank you IPOB, ESN and KGM (known Gun Men). Jisienu Ike ooooooo.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>
