Dispatch Rider and Accomplice Arrested for Stolen Motorcycle in Lagos

• The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos State arrested a dispatch rider and his accomplice for attempting to sell a motorcycle belonging to a logistics company.

• Investigations revealed that the dispatch rider, who had been working for the company for a month, connived with his accomplice to sell the motorcycle, which was procured just before he was employed.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a dispatch rider and his accomplice for conspiring to sell a motorcycle belonging to a logistics company based in Lagos.

According to a press release by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the suspects, Ekele Sunday and Yakubu Abdurrahman, were apprehended by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) after they received credible intelligence on their whereabouts.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that Ekele, who had been working for the company for a month, colluded with Abdurrahman to sell the motorcycle, which had been procured just a few days before he was employed.

When the RRS operatives arrived at their location in Oke-Koto, Agege, the suspects attempted to flee, but Ekele and Abdurrahman were apprehended, while the third accomplice managed to escape.

The recovered motorcycle has since been returned to the logistics company, while the suspects are facing prosecution at the Ogba Magistrate Court in Agege.

This incident serves as a warning to would-be criminals that the Lagos State Police Command will continue to clamp down on all forms of criminal activity and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.
