Davido’s ‘Timeless’ Cling World History As First African Album Top US iTunes Chart

Adeleke David, Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, professionally known as Davido, has set an African record on the US iTunes Albums Chart with his newly released album ‘Timeless’.

The ‘Timeless’ album clinched to the highest on the charts, making history as the first African album to do so in the globe’s largest music market.

Chart data, the music charts, confirmed the development via its Twitter page on Wednesday saying.

“ #davido’s ‘Timeless’ becomes the first African album in history to reach #1 on US iTunes.”

Davido’s new album, ‘Timeless’, has set a new record for the first-day streams in the history of Audiomack.

It was also announced on the music streaming app’s Twitter page on Monday, few days to it release.

The album had over 12 million streams in its first 24 hours.

The platform tweeted, “? RECORD-BREAKING: #davido’s #Timeless had over 12 MILLION streams in its first 24 hours, more than any other album on Audiomack, ever! ? ?Keep streaming, keep supporting: http://amack.it/Timeless#KeepTheBeatGoing?.”

Also, the album is also currently No. 1 on the Nigerian Top Albums Chart, the UK Top Albums Chart, and in 17 other countries on Apple Music. The newest album, ‘Timeless’ has set a new record for the most first-day streams by an African album on Apple Music, freshreporters had noted.

The Apple Music itself revealed made this known on Monday in a tweet shared via Apple Music Twitter handle.

Apple Music tweeted “.#davido is breaking global records. The Nigerian superstar’s #Timeless had the most first-day streams ever for an African album on Apple Music.”

The ‘Timeless’ album amassed one million streams on Boomplay in just six hours after it was released on the streaming platform on Friday, 31st of March, 2023.
