Dangote Cement Set To Pay Out N340billion Dividends Next Month

The pan-African cement producer, Dangote cement plc management team, has disclosed that once the stakeholders of the AGM slated on the 13th of April, 2023, approved the proposal, the shareholders whose names are registered in the company’s register of members at the close of the business on the 30th of March, 2023 will be immediately paid the sum of about N340billion at the end of the meeting.

According a circular released by on the Dangote Cement plc newspaper, and signed by the acting Dangote cement secretary, person of Edward Imoedemhe, the company enlisted some of the dividends unclaimed via its website. In the circular, the company also urged the stakeholders of unclaimed shares of certificates should contact and address their claim to the company’s coronation registrar.

The Dangote cement plc went on to reveal that its giving notice to all stakeholders to open bank accounts, stockbroking accounts, CSCS accounts for receiving dividends payment electronically. And also for the pursuants to the section of 187 of CAMA 2020, the treasury shares are not privileged to dividends and voting rights.

The cement company further published in a notice that it ordinary business for the day are: laying the audited financial statements for the year that ended in December, 31 2022 together with the reports of the directors, auditors, and the audit committee thereon.

Going down memory lane in the financial statement of the company in the year 2022, the gross earning of the company increased from N1.4 trillion to N1.6trillion recording in the preceding year due to high income generated cement and clinker sale, with a significant chunk coming from the domestic market.

The Dangote cement plc also increased in sale by 21 percent to N1,205 billion as against N995 billion recorded from the proceeded year.

Meanwhile, the groups earning per share increased by 5 percent to N22.27billion as against the proceeding years N22.42 billion. The company’s earning per share increased by 6 percent to N23.87billion as against N22.42billion recorded for the proceeding years.
