Dotun Babayemi, the ex governorship aspirant under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Osun State, hailed the governor-elect, of Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his victory at the Supreme Court.
Babayemi while congratulating Adeleke noted that despite the apex court weak judgement on the core aspect of his case against the candidature of Senator Adeleke, Who at the end of the Osun election emerged winner, said he did not regret his action.
It was recalled that the Supreme Court had in the course of the week, Thursday dismissed Babayemi’s suit against the senator on technical grounds, having filed the matter out of time.
Babayemi however, reacting to the decision of the court in a statement he signed and issued out, he called on the good people of Osun state to continue to support efforts that would always bring about the growth of the state.
According to him “I want to wish the governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the PDP, and the good people of Osun the very best as a new administration under the PDP prepares to berth in Osun. I pray it will bring about the long-awaited turnaround for the state and its people.
“In the just concluded case at the Supreme Court, the exploration of the legal process was good for the country’s democracy. For us, the legal journey was a long walk and worthwhile with no iota of regret. The kernel of our case at the Supreme Court was not reviewed as it was decided on technical grounds. Above all, no regrets.”
