Hundreds of citizens took to the streets on Sunday in Asia, China’s major cities to stage a protest against zero-Covid policy in the country in a rare outpouring of public anger against the state.
It was gathered that China’s hardline virus strategy is stoking the general public frustration, with many growing weary of snap lockdowns, lengthy quarantines and mass testing campaigns in the country.
It was also gathered that a deadly fire on Thursday in Urumqi, the capital of northwest China’s Xinjiang region, has sparked up a fresh catalyst for public anger, with many of them blaming the lengthy Covid lockdowns for hampering rescue efforts.
The China Authorities has however denied the claims.
