Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, briefs National Assembly Joint committees on Banking, Insurance & Other Financial Institutions and Banking Regulations, on the activities of the CBN and the performance of the Nigerian economy on Thursday, 14th of December, 2023.
Mr. Olayemi Cardoso revealed that the outlook for the domestic economy is expected to remain positive for the remainder of 2023 and for 2024.
Inflation pressures may persist in the short term but are expected to decline in 2024; forecasts that exchange rate pressures are also expected to reduce significantly with the smooth functioning of the foreign exchange market.
According to him, the apex bank to consult widely with stakeholders on figures of recapitalisation.
He said,
