The awaited commissioner nominees’ list submitted by Governor Mai Mala Buni to the Yobe State Assembly has been disclosed by the Speaker, Hon. Buba Chiroma-Mashio, after lingering suspicion over its contents.
Sources have revealed that the first part of the list was supposedly released on July 27 but remained concealed until the recent plenary, when the second part was presented.
Concerns had arisen that the initial batch might have been an empty list intended to meet the constitutionally mandated 60-day deadline for submission.
Despite this speculation, both the state government and assembly leaders have stated that four names were indeed included in the first batch.

An insider from the assembly revealed that while Speaker Chiroma-Mashio claimed all 24 members received the list, only the speaker and not the other members were mentioned.
Meanwhile, some have expressed concerns over the delay in forming the cabinet, as many other state governors have already constituted their cabinets.
However, Speaker Buba Chiroma-Mashio emphasized that there was no blank list and explained the process of receiving and screening the nominees. He stated that the nominees would be screened in batches from August 16th to 18th.
Mallam Mamman Muhammad, Director General of Press and Media Affairs to Governor Buni, clarified that the state government submitted the list in accordance with constitutional requirements.
