In a historic escalation of tensions, the United States launched targeted airstrikes on multiple nuclear facilities in Iran, President Donald Trump announced in a social media post on Saturday.
The operation marks the first direct U.S. military attack on Iran and intensifies the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel that erupted last week.
“Our strikes on Iran’s nuclear sites—including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan—were highly successful,” Trump stated. “All aircraft have exited Iranian airspace. A full payload of bombs was deployed on the primary target, Fordow. Our planes are now returning safely.”
