According to reports gathered by Freshreporters News, two officers of the Nigeria Police Force were killed in an attack by unknown gunmen on Sunday at a security checkpoint near the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus (UNEC).
The officers were reportedly carrying out a stop-and-search operation when they were caught off guard by the assailants.
A video circulating on social media showed the two officers lying in a pool of blood as bystanders looked on.
As of the time of this report, the Enugu State Police Command has not released any official statement regarding the incident.
