The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has announced that the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) will be shut down for scheduled maintenance starting May 24, 2025.
In a statement issued on Saturday by Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Femi Soneye, NNPC explained that the shutdown is part of a planned maintenance and sustainability assessment to ensure the refinery operates at optimal performance levels.
NNPC stated that it is working closely with relevant stakeholders, including the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), to carry out the process efficiently and transparently.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to delivering sustainable energy security across Nigeria.
This shutdown follows a similar one in December 2024, which occurred shortly after the refinery resumed operations post a $1.5 billion rehabilitation.
Further updates will be provided via NNPC’s official channels. [CONTINUE READING HERE]>>>>>
