Governor Siminalayi Fubara has formally defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), multiple sources close to the Government House confirmed on Tuesday, December 10, 2025.
His decision fundamentally reshapes the political landscape in Rivers State, a major stronghold of Nigeria’s opposition. The move follows a closed-door meeting between Governor Fubara and President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday evening.
