Boko Haram Insurgents Launch Coordinated Attacks, K!lling 15 In Borno

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have attacked and mercilessly slaughtered at least 15 people in coordinated assaults on two communities in Jere Local Government Area of Borno State.

The attacks occurred during the early hours of Friday, leaving the affected communities in a state of shock and mourning.

The assailants initially targeted Kofa village, launching their assault at midnight. Residents recounted that the attackers arrived and began shooting indiscriminately, creating a wave of terror that lasted for about an hour. The sound of gunfire pierced the night, instilling fear in the hearts of the villagers.

The violence escalated as the insurgents moved on to target Molai Kura and Molai Gana. In these communities, they carried out gruesome acts of slaughter, leaving multiple people dead. Faced with the brutal onslaught, many residents fled their homes, seeking refuge in the nearby bush in a desperate attempt to save their lives.

Bukar Ali Musty, a prominent member of a local vigilante group, provided chilling details of the attacks. He revealed that a group of farmers had been working on their farmland near Molai, on the outskirts of Maiduguri, when the insurgents struck on Thursday.

Tragically, seven farmers were beheaded while they were engaged in their agricultural activities. In addition, the attackers ruthlessly slit the throats of eight innocent civilians in their own homes. The gruesome scenes of violence left the entire community reeling in horror and mourning the loss of their loved ones.

A member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), who participated in the evacuation of the victims’ bodies, expressed deep concern over the recent surge in attacks. He emphasized the urgent need for all stakeholders to unite in combating this recurring menace, ensuring that such acts of violence do not continue to devastate communities.

The CJTF member described the scene as heart-wrenching, witnessing fellow human beings slaughtered like helpless animals. He called upon everyone to rise against this enemy of peace and work towards bringing an end to the senseless bloodshed.
