Boko Haram Commander Khaid Malam Ali Surrenders To Troops

In a significant development, Khaid Malam Ali, a top Commander of the notorious terrorist group Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād, commonly known as Boko Haram, has surrendered to the troops of Operation Hadin Kai in the North East region of Borno state. Accompanying Ali in surrendering was his lieutenant, Bunu Umar.

According to reports, Ali and his fighters were dislodged from their positions by the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) terrorists.

The ISWAP militants successfully coordinated a raid on the Boko Haram hideouts in Bula Alhaji Garwaye, located in the fingers of Sambisa near Bama LGA, on July 5, 2023.

Zagazola, a reliable source, confirmed that during the operation, ISWAP militants killed numerous Boko Haram fighters, including women and children associated with the group.

Khaid Malam Ali held the position of Commander in the Sabil Huda and Njumia regions, playing a significant role in leading the terrorists.

However, due to the escalating risk of battlefield elimination, Ali made the decision to lay down his arms and surrender to Operation Hadin Kai forces.
