Tragedy hit Nibo, a town in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Sunday, as gunmen reportedly killed at least 16 people—mostly young people.
Unconfirmed reports suggest the massacre stemmed from a violent cult clash within the community.
A disturbing video, now circulating online, shows the grim aftermath—bodies sprawled across the ground in pools of blood.
One Facebook user warned locals to steer clear of the area, saying, “Please avoid Nibo today. Many feared dead already. They said it’s cult clash. Our youths are dying in their numbers.”
Ifeyinwa Okeke, another Facebook user, painted a chilling picture of the situation at the hospital. “Our emergency ward at Amaku Teaching Hospital, Awka is filled with victims from there. It was terrible,” she wrote.
