Security men under the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, have arrested 3 ex-convicts, 1 internet stalker, and 17 other suspected individuals dealing in the illegal sale of petroleum products along the roads.
The suspects were arrested during a coordinated surveillance which was carried out across Ikoyi, VI and Lekki-Ajah corridor.
This was announced in a post by the Commissioner, Ministry of the Environment and water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, on Saturday, 31st of August, 2024.
He wrote:
“Coordinated surveillance was today carried out to checkmate the menace of miscreants and nuisance caused by destitutes across Ikoyi, VI and Lekki-Ajah corridor.
“Awolowo way, Alfred Rewane road in Ikoyi and the Lekki-Ajah express way, were monitored all day.
“3 ex-convicts, 1 internet stalker, plus 17 other Suspected miscreants and persons dealing in the illegal sale of petroleum products along the roads were arrested during the operation.
“Substances suspected to be Indian hemp and Jerry Cans/gallons of fuel were recovered
