The top four best-graduating students of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye have been awarded a total sum of N8,000,000 by the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun.
It has been reported by FRESHREPORTERS NEWS that during the recent 32nd and 33rd convocation ceremony, an award was announced. It should be noted that each student is set to receive N2 million as clarified.
At the recent convocation, degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas, Master’s Degrees and PhD awards were conferred upon more than 15,000 deserving graduands from various disciplines who had completed academic sessions of both 2021/2022 and 2022/23.
Previously, three exceptional students were recognized by the management of OOU. These outstanding individuals are Talabi Ayomide from the Biochemistry Department, Adesanya Damilola from Pharmacology, and Aĺabi Ifeoluwa who pursued Computer Engineering.

Miss Adegoke Azeezat, a Pharmacology graduate who attained the highest CGPA of 4.90 during the 2022/2023 academic session, has been awarded a cash prize worth N2m by Governor Abiodun.
Moreover, a cash prize worth N500,000 will be bestowed upon the top-performing graduate of every department.
Abiodun’s representative, Deputy Noimot Salako-Oyedele extended congratulations to the graduates and gave assurances that education remains a top priority for the state government. She emphasized their commitment towards providing adequate funding and support which will enable these individuals to develop highly skilled abilities thereby contributing significantly towards developing a strong and prosperous nation.
However, he encouraged the students to act as proud representatives of their university and emphasized that upon entering the working world, they can rely on their degree to provide them with essential abilities for devising creative solutions.
As the business landscape constantly transforms, obtaining a degree should not mark the culmination of your education but rather signify the beginning of another chapter in your personal and professional development.

Prof Ayodeji Agboola, the university’s Vice Chancellor, recently stated that his administration has been implementing measures to boost academic excellence and accomplish the institution’s goals.

Agboola’s administration has a chief objective of elevating OOU to the status of a premier university globally, with its graduates serving as drivers for innovation, entrepreneurship and international employment. This aim is elucidated in a ten-year strategic plan from 2023 until 2033.
Agboola commended the graduates on their achievements and motivated them to grasp the plethora of opportunities that are awaiting in their forthcoming endeavors. He emphasized using acquired knowledge for an affirmative impact on society while being esteemed ambassadors of the institution.
