Be Patient With Players – Eric Ten Hag Tells Manchester United Fans

Following a frustrating draw with Burnley, Erik ten Hag urged patience for his young players and asserted that even the greatest Manchester United teams required time to develop.

The 87th-minute penalty kick by Zeki Amdouni, which negated an Antony goal that appeared to put United ahead, sent boos ringing through Old Trafford.

United’s Dutch manager begged for more time as his players wasted yet another opportunity to win, acknowledging the displeasure of the supporters, particularly after he had substituted Kobbie Mainoo early in the second half.

“We are building this club back with young players and that takes time,” Ten Hag said post-match. “We have brought in young players Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund and Kobbie Mainoo who are all in their first Premier League season.

“We know this League gets more intense every year and those players have to adjust which takes time. I’m very impatient but we need patient fans.

“I remember the United team of 2004-5, they didn’t play great football but they were building and it takes time but everyone forgets. Even the players who were in that team, they forget they were struggling and that they need time to progress.” [CONTINUE READING HERE]
