Bandits have released three of the residents who were abducted in Kafin Koro and neighboring communities in Paikoro Local Government Area of Niger state. Last month, these areas were attacked by a large number of bandits, resulting in the abduction of over 50 individuals.
According to reports, some of the kidnapped victims had previously regained their freedom by paying varying amounts of ransom, while others still remain in captivity. The ordeal of those still held captive continues, with concerns mounting for their safety.
However, on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, Umar Farouq Akike, a member of the community, took to Facebook to share the uplifting news of the release of three women.
Although the circumstances surrounding their freedom remain unclear, the news offers a glimmer of hope for the affected community.
