Two female All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders have been abducted by bandits near the Manini flash point in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Hajiya Lami Awarware, the APC women’s leader for Birnin Gwari, and her assistant, Hajiya Haulatu Aliyu, were kidnapped on Tuesday, May 30 after attending the inauguration of the state’s new governor, Senator Uba Sani, on Monday.
Ishaq Usman Kasai, the chairman of the Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), revealed this in an interview with the Nigerian Tribune on May 31st, saying that the bandits shut down the route and abducted the women along with scores of others.
According to information acquired, the kidnappers took the victims to the forest as soon as they had taken them on Tuesday.
He added that the kidnappers had not yet been in touch with any local residents or the families of the victims.
