Sadio Mane, a Star Senegalese football captain, has won the first Socrates Award at this year, 2022 Ballon d’Or.
The organizer of the Ballon d’Or added a humanitarian prize to this year’s event named for Socrates, the Brazil midfielder, Sadio Mane who also held a medical degree.
A statement from the France football magazine said in September reads “The Socrates Prize will identify the best social initiative by committed champions,”
