Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, recently met with the Jamaican Ambassador to Nigeria, Lincoln Downer, to discuss strengthening aviation ties between the two countries.
During the meeting, they agreed on the importance of signing a Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA) to facilitate smoother air travel and cooperation between Nigeria and Jamaica.
To move the process forward, both parties appointed focal points to oversee and coordinate the necessary steps for the agreement’s implementation.
This was made known in a post on Keyamo’s X handle on Wednesday, 12th of March 2024.
The post reads:
“Yesterday, I had the honour of receiving in my office in Abuja, the Jamaican Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Lincoln Downer. We discussed the issue of the signing of a Bilateral Air Service Agreement between both countries and both sides were enthusiastic about it. We immediately appointed focal persons on both sides to get to work on it.
