ASUU STRIKE: Protesters Mocks Ngige Describes Minister As ‘Okija Priest’ That Must Be Banished

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC displayed a banner today (Wednesday), mocking the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, during the labour Congress protest in Abuja, FCT.

The Labour Union is protesting in solidarity with striking university lecturers over the Federal Government’s failure to address the demands. And the protest staged yesterday, continued today.

The banner displayed at the NLC protest today featured a masquerade with Ngige’s face said, “This Okija priest must be banished from our universities. Enough is enough!”

Meanwhile, Dr. Chris Ngige has faulted the ongoing protests by the NLC stating there were no grounds for it and illegal.

ASUU striking is heading towards it sixth month now and nothing tangible have been done, as the union (ASUU) may say, since on the 14th of February, 2022.

Okija is a village at Anambra State.
