The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU Gombe State University and Federal University, Kashere chapter staged a peaceful protest in Gombe State over poor salaries by the government.
The salary which the union described as “amputated salaries” made the union to stage a protest on Tuesday.
Other universities also staged it protests.
In Gombe state chapter, Some of the lecturers carried placards, one of which read, “Our salary as an academician is the poorest in the world.”
The government has described the salary as “pro-rata” which means you cannot be paid for works not done.
